Augmented Reality – You won’t see it in HTML5

Flash is not dead, and won’t be in anytime soon. I see many reasons to affirm that, but the unique that can’t be refused by the HTML5 enthusiastics is the camera access.
Without camera access, we won’t have such things as Chatroulette, sites like JibJab would have to remove the “take a picture function” and brilliant marketing campaigns like the one from Esquire wouldn’t be possible. Also my motion detection games, Breakout and Watch Out, wouldn’t exist.
I invite the Flash enthusiastics to create something cool using webcam. Here there are some inspirations:

Augmented Reality: Using FLARToolkit is possible easly create some AR by printing a mark and showing it to yout webcam. Example: http://augmentedreality.hvilela.com/

Face Detection: MariLena is an OpenCV port to ActionScript 3 (AS3 / Flash) that allows you to detect multiple faces in real time.

Movement Detection: Using AS3Motion you’ll be able to detect movement in a fast way and create things that imitate Xbox Kinetics. It’s really simple to use.

I don’t know what does future hold for Flash, but at least for now, it’s irreplaceable.
